When is Boxing Day
Traditionally it is celebrated every year on 26th December, the day after Christmas.
Why is it called Boxing Day?
While there are different theories, the origin of Boxing Day lies in the Middle Ages, when the nobles gave their servants boxes with food and fruit and let them spend the day with their families. It also coincides with a religious tradition, in which priests brought out boxes with the charitable donations they have collected to distribute them among those in need. Hence the name.
